Russian citizens do not need a visa for a short trip to Kazakhstan. Adults may enter using a valid Russian internal passport or international passport. The document must be intact and clearly identify its holder.
From 20 January 2026, Russian children under 14 need their own international passport to leave Russia for Kazakhstan; a birth certificate alone is no longer sufficient. Children aged 14 and over should carry a valid internal or international passport.
If a child travels without a parent or legal guardian, confirm the requirements for notarised consent before departure. Carry the birth certificate and name-change documents when the child and accompanying adult have different surnames.
Citizens of EAEU member states, including Russia, may stay in Kazakhstan for up to 90 calendar days on one trip and no more than 90 days in total within each 180-day period. Separate grounds and procedures apply to work, study or longer residence.
The receiving party must notify Kazakhstan’s migration service within three working days after each arrival. A hotel handles this for guests; when staying in a flat or private home, the owner or host submits the notification through eQonaq, the Visa and Migration Portal or gov.kz.
If the accommodation address changes, the receiving party must submit a new notification. Ask for confirmation and check that the passport details, address and purpose of travel are correct.
Consider medical insurance valid in Kazakhstan and carry necessary medicines in their original packaging. Keep a prescription or medical letter for prescription medication and check import restrictions in advance.
Bring a backup payment method, some tenge, a charger and access to mobile service. Check the official entry and stay rules again before departure, as migration requirements can change.
Leave your contact details and our operator will confirm the trip.
